SDSL is a licensed California C-10 electrical contractor (CSLB 1139780) built around one specialty: lighting that has to do more than turn on. RGBW luminaire systems, LED retrofits, Signify / Color Kinetics installation, controls integration, and commissioning — for stadiums, theaters, civic landmarks, and high-visibility commercial venues.
Service 01
Turnkey electrical construction
The power side has to be right before the lighting side matters. SDSL holds the C-10 and self-performs the full electrical scope that comes attached to a specialty lighting package — so the work doesn't get split between an electrician who won't touch the controls and an integrator who can't pull wire.

Service 02
RGBW luminaire systems & architectural lighting
This is the work we're known for, and it runs in both directions — exterior RGBW on stadiums, civic landmarks and building facades where the luminaire is exposed to weather and the mounting has to be invented on site, and interior dynamic color and tunable white in lobbies, ballrooms, restaurants and theaters where glare, color rendering and dimming behavior matter more than weatherproofing.

We install and service the specialty lines designers around here actually specify — principally Signify / Philips Color Kinetics IntelliHue, including the Reach Elite High Output and High Punch and BlastElite Powercore families — and we work with value-added partners to bypass the middlemen, taking on the risk of knowing the product and executing.

Lighting controls, addressing & commissioning
A color-changing system is software wearing a fixture. Most electrical contractors stop at the last conduit strap. We keep going until the building does what the lighting designer drew.

Service 04
LED retrofit & system upgrades
Plenty of San Diego buildings were lit beautifully ten years ago and have been slowly going dark ever since — failed drivers, discontinued fixtures, a controller nobody knows the password to. When the conduit and power are already in, a retrofit is usually the fastest dramatic change available. More on retrofit →

Service 05
Service, maintenance & support
Exterior lighting lives outdoors in salt air and gets hit by irrigation, weather, and time. We hold maintenance agreements on systems we built and on systems we inherited.

Warranty
One year on the workmanship.
Every SDSL installation carries a one-year workmanship warranty from final commissioning — electrical connections, fixture mounting and alignment, control programming, wiring, and driver installation. Extended three-year coverage is available at additional cost.
Manufacturer product defects fall under the separate Signify / Color Kinetics warranty, which we pass through and administer on your behalf.
Public works
Prevailing wage work is routine, not an exception.
SDSL is DIR registered (#2000013156) and signatory to IBEW Local 569. We run certified payroll, file DAS-140 and DAS-142 apprenticeship notices, and meet the documentation requirements that public agencies, school districts, and municipalities audit against. Our Petco Park and Civic Plaza contracts are both prevailing wage.
